Bloggers Guide to Summer- In the Kitchen with Kids

Our last guest post for today comes from another favorite blogger of mine,

Holly is the super talented girl behind the Etsy shop,
where she sells handmade paper goods.
I used her vintage dictionary birds for my laundry room wreath.

I LOVE them.

On her blog she shares crafting inspiration, recipes, and
and peaks into her life with her sweet son, Andrew.
 She always has fantastic decorating ideas to share
and she's a supporter of all things handmade!

Summer is here!
...and that means that the kiddos are home with us.
I adore baking. I love quietly mixing up cookie dough in the kitchen and I love the way the house smells when something yummy is baking in the oven. And, I love to try new recipes that my six-year old can actually help me with. Kid-friendly, very quick and easy, yet delicious at the same time. Enter in this scrumptious, yet so-simple recipe! Ask the kids to wash their hands and get ready to roll!

Nutella Crescent Roll Cookies

You will need:
1 package store-bought crescent roll dough
Nutella Hazelnut Spread
{find it in the peanut butter section at the grocery store! It is the world's most amazing thing- trust me!}
Sliced Almonds
{I used almonds, but feel free to use hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, or skip the nuts altogether.}

Unroll the crescent roll dough and generously spread Nutella over each flattened triangle piece.

Sprinkle with the sliced almonds, and then let your kids have fun by rolling each one up into the crescent shape!

Place them all on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and sprinkle with sugar. Pop them in a hot oven, following the temperature and baking time on your specific purchased crescent roll dough, minus a minute or two.

You want them to be just slightly golden brown. Let them cool for a few minutes after you take them out of the oven. These are best when eaten slightly warm when the nutella is gooey and oh-so-delish. And that's it! I told you these were simple. :)
Happy summer baking to you and your kids!! :)
xo!
