I'm so glad you're here! Each Monday we'll gather here to
share ideas and inspiration on things that can help us take the
life we have and make it the life we love.
This weekend I added a little lovely to myself. If I'm being honest,
which I think you know I am, then I have to admit that at this point
in the summer I've usually lost all ambition to look cute, much less
lovely. This summer is no exception. While all of my accessories
sit on the shelf, I run around town in as little as is prudent for a
woman that birthed three babies. I decided it was time to break the
cycle. On Sunday, I wore a linen dress I found on clearance at
Target, a short sleeved cardi from last year (also from Target), and
added the pin my friend Michelle made. It felt so good to spend a
little time on myself and to feel put together again. I think this
might just be my new favorite outfit.
I added a little lovely outside, too. This weekend was the first
in months that we were able to be outside without needing to
be in the pool. The slightly cooler temps were all I needed to
feel inspired to add some cheer to the garden. I used the leftover
Amy Butler laminated fabric and made a string of flags to hang
from the trees with some yarn and staples.
Can you see that back there? Back behind the flags. That's our little
1967 Kitt camper that's too small for us to camp in anymore. Luckily,
Scott agreed to pull it up into our yard and let me turn it into a
hideaway right there in the garden. I can't wait for cooler weather so
I can get in there and get to work. We haven't used it in years so it's
in need of some pretty serious tlc, but I don't mind. The chance to have
a little retreat right in the middle of the garden is going to be pretty lovely!
Now it's your turn! Please link up any posts about what you did, are doing,
or want to do to make your world a little more lovely. Be sure to include
the link to your post, not your blog, and be sure to link back so we can
spread the love(ly).
